Pleural mesothelioma is the type of Mesothelioma which affects mainly the linings of lungs of humans. Pleural mesothelioma is mainly found in people who work inside the industries where there a high degree of asbestos content present in the atmosphere. In the industries the dust and fibres of asbestos is present which gets easily inhaled by the workers and this dust particles get deposited on the linings of the lungs and results in shrinkage of lungs. The shrinkage of lungs results in breathing problems like suffocation, formation of cough in the lungs. Though this disease is not a part of lung cancer but its outcome is very much dangerous. The shrinkage of lungs by this disease also affects the proper functioning of the heart. In case of any types of symptoms, the patients must as soon as possible consult a doctor otherwise a stage would come when the patients get incurable.

Pleural mesothelioma affects the fluid between the chest wall and the pleural linings of the lungs. This fluid acts as a lubricant which allows the slipping of the lungs against the chest wall when the lungs use to expand and contract during the process of inhaling and exhaling. Some of the main symptoms of pleural mesothelioma are sudden loss of weight whose reason cannot be easily understood. However in the initial stages the patients will have difficulty in breathing properly. The patients will also have problems like blood coughing. The people suffering from pleural mesothelioma will also have severe chest pain and sometimes will have pain in shoulders, arms and in the upper abdomen. Though very rare, continuous chill, fever and night sweat are also the symptoms of pleural mesothelioma. Though this disease is a slow process, the people working inside the industries must always take care oh themselves to prevent inhaling of dust particles and fibres of asbestos.
